Marigold specialises in bespoke garments for all occasions from everyday dresses, tops and tunics to couture bridalwear. The process starts with a meeting to discuss your project and its cost. At this point measurements are also taken. Before the next visit a design is drawn up and once this is finalised a small deposit is required. The next visit will be to try on the toile (mock-up in calico) of the final garment. There will be a meeting to try on the garment before it is finished (usually the back is left open and the hem unfinished). The final garment is ready to try well before it will be worn so that any last-minute alterations can be made. The cost for bespoke ranges hugely and depends on how long the garment takes to make and the fabrics used but would typically start at around £200.
