I have been making clothes since I could reach the pedals of a treadle singer sewing machine; dressing dolls and then myself and friends in embarrassing outfits throughout the seventies and eighties. That was a long time ago! After a career in teaching I returned to sewing and retrained at the London College of Fashion and Heriot Watt textile and fashion campus at Galashiels. A trial rail of clothes in a friend’s boutique quickly sold out and so Marigold was born and quickly evolved into an established business supplying ready-to-wear for various boutiques in the Highlands, shows around Scotland as well as made-to-measure, bespoke and bridalwear. It has been a really rewarding and exciting journey as each client brings a new fresh and exciting project and I am glad to be able to help them make this their perfect garment.
